The rules for using Lukaut

What Lukaut is for

Lukaut is for reporting things you saw yourself that may breach electoral campaign-conduct rules in Papua New Guinea — signage, posters or activity in the wrong place or at the wrong time. Trained reviewers check each report; Lukaut itself decides nothing and accuses nobody.

Every report is an allegation

A report is not treated as true until a reviewer verifies it. Unverified reports are never forwarded, published or used to accuse anyone.

Do not send false reports

Only report what you genuinely saw. Knowingly making a false report to mislead an authority can be an offence under Papua New Guinea law, and it takes reviewer time away from real reports.

Not an emergency service

Nobody watches Lukaut around the clock. If you or anyone else is in danger, contact the police or emergency services directly — do not wait for a report to be reviewed.

No warranty during the demonstration

This deployment is a working demonstration. It is provided as-is, without any promise that it will stay available, that reports will be acted on, or that the service will be free of faults.

Contact

Lukaut is operated by an independent civic-technology demonstration project. A contact channel will be published before any official deployment — see who runs Lukaut.
